In the Twin-Control project, a simulation system is being developed that integrates the various aspects affecting machine performance and provides a better estimate of machining performance than individual simulation models. This holistic simulation model will be linked to the real machines in order to update according to their actual condition and implement control measures that lead to process improvements.

The EU-funded TWIN-CONTROL project aims to unite the sub-disciplines that influence the machine tool and its machining process in a common simulation environment. The focus is on aspects that are becoming increasingly important, such as energy efficiency and optimisation of maintenance. The holistic approach is intended to utilise synergy effects that lead to more precise simulation results in all sub-disciplines.
