Poolregler

Overall optimization of a virtual power plant in public power supply at the intraday, day ahead and control energy market.

The aim of the project “Pool controller for a virtual power plant” is the high-resolution optimization of controllable power generation and consumption plants in the power system. A number of energy-relevant plants, which are combined to form a so-called plant pool or virtual power plant, provide optimally coordinated energy services. These include both traditional stock exchange transactions and system services to stabilize the electricity grid. Especially small decentralized systems offer enormous potential for optimization. The increasing dismantling of conventional, easily controllable generation capacity increases the relevance of small, decentralized systems for securing the power grid. Decentralized systems already provide approx. 40% of the electricity in Germany (as of 2016).
