Kick-off AutoBeam project

On Friday December 8th, 2023, we had the kick-off meeting of the publicly funded project “Autobeam”. In the consortium of
- Trumpf SE + Co. KG
- Oerlikon (Surface Solutions)
- Institute for Product Development and Machine Elements – pmd
- Institut für Produktionsmanagement, Technologie und Werkzeugmaschinen – PTW and
- BMW Group
we will work on the further development and industrialization of beam shaping technologies for the laser-based powder bed fusion processing of metals (PBF-LB/M). The aim is to leverage higher production rates and lower costs per part (€/ccm) through PBF-LB/M-processes within the automotive industry!
