Since the summer semester of 2026, Mr. Fey has been assisting Prof. Weigold with his master's lecture on Digitisation in Productionn. This lecture teaches students about the transformation processes in production caused by advancing digitalization. Practical examples are used to show how agility and flexibility can be used to implement successful bespoke manufacturing. The basis for this is the networking of production processes. In addition, the characteristics of modern information and communication infrastructures and available models for standardized networking are discussed. Another focus is on the importance of data collection, handling, and use as a crucial asset in future data-driven production. Finally, an overview of modern control mechanisms is provided, including the issue of autonomous processes in production.
