Research focus on Climate-Neutral Production Infrastructure

  • Model-based planning for the energy-optimized design of technical utility systems
  • Model-supported analysis of transformation measures for the climate-neutral and cost-efficient further development of existing production sites
  • Simulation and analysis of interconnected energy systems at process and site level
  • Method development for the holistic assessment of industrial energy systems, taking into account interactions and uncertainties at process and site level

Since the winter semester 2024/2025, Mr. Gölz has been leading the tutorial Simulation of Supply Systems in Production.

This tutorial provides an introduction to dynamic simulation and possible areas of application in an industrial context with energy relevance. For this purpose, an overview of suitable simulation environments and modeling approaches as well as relevant basics on industrial supply systems is provided. The focus is on the Modelica language and the simulation environment Dymola from Dassault Systèmes. Here, students can learn about the development of object-oriented model/simulation libraries and advanced simulation techniques (FMI model export, co-simulation, coupling with mathematical optimization). Finally, the simulation tools are applied to concrete case studies from production.
