Research focus on autonomous and hybrid manufacturing

Since the summer semester 2025, Mr. Kalter / Mr. Zarges is supervising the tutorial Fundamentals of Robot Programming in the Master's program. The aim of the tutorial is to teach the theoretical basics required for programming and operating industrial robots. In addition, students are given the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the online and offline programming of industrial robots by means of practical exercises.

The lecture Machine Tools and Robots is offered since summer semester 2022 and held by Prof. Weigold (PTW) and Prof. Groche (PtU). Basic contents are the assessment of the application and use of machine tools and their differentiation regarding their characteristics as well as their structure. The essential components and assemblies of machine tools (frame and foundation, guideways, drives, periphery, control and feedback control, technology of measurements and safety devices) are described and discussed. Furthermore, the topics of selection, design, and evaluation of mechanical components as well as the design based on the corresponding manufacturing process on the respective machine tool are dealt with.
