Machine Tools and Robots
The lecture is offered since summer semester 2022 and held by Prof. Weigold (PTW) and Prof. Groche (PtU). Basic contents are the assessment of the application and use of machine tools and their differentiation regarding their characteristics as well as their structure. The essential components and assemblies of machine tools (frame and foundation, guideways, drives, periphery, control and feedback control, technology of measurements and safety devices) are described and discussed. Furthermore, the topics of selection, design, and evaluation of mechanical components as well as the design based on the corresponding manufacturing process on the respective machine tool are dealt with.
